Ingredients
Scale
Beef
- 8 oz flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
Noodles
- 8 oz lo mein noodles (fresh or dried)
Vegetables
- 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup snap peas
Sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 tsp minced garlic
Aromatics & Garnishes
- 2 green onions, sliced
Oil
- 2 tbsp vegetable or peanut oil
Instructions
- Prepare Your Ingredients: Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness. Chop the bell peppers, carrots, and snap peas into uniform pieces. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package instructions, then drain and toss with a little oil to prevent sticking.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Stir well to blend the flavors.
- Cook the Beef: Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the beef slices in a single layer and sear quickly until browned on the outside but still juicy inside. Remove the beef and set aside.
- Stir-Fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the prepared vegetables and stir-fry until crisp-tender, maintaining their vibrant colors and crunch.
- Combine and Toss Everything Together: Return the beef to the pan with the vegetables. Add the cooked noodles and pour over the sauce. Toss everything quickly to coat evenly and warm through. Finish with sliced green onions for freshness.
Notes
- Prep Everything Before You Start: Have all ingredients chopped and ready as stir-frying moves quickly.
- Use High Heat: Keeps beef tender and veggies crisp without steaming.
- Don’t Overcrowd the Pan: Cook in batches if needed for even browning.
- Slice Beef Thinly: Thin slices ensure quick cooking and tenderness.
- Toss Noodles with Oil: Prevents noodles from clumping and helps sauce absorption.
