Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Sauce

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 23 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 3 cups marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Pasta

  • 68 no-boil lasagna noodles or regular lasagna noodles broken into pieces

Cheese

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Liquid

  • 1 cup water or broth

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Sauce: Set your Instant Pot to sauté mode. Cook the ground beef or turkey with diced onion and minced garlic until browned and fragrant. Stir in Italian seasoning and drain any excess fat for a less greasy sauce.
  2. Add Your Ingredients in Layers: Turn off sauté mode. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of the pot to prevent sticking. Add broken lasagna noodles, spoon in portions of the meat sauce, add dollops of ricotta cheese, and sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses. Repeat the layers gently without pressing down too hard to keep noodles from clumping.
  3. Pour in Liquid: Pour water or broth over the layered ingredients to ensure the noodles have enough moisture to cook properly under pressure and to help the Instant Pot build pressure.
  4. Pressure Cook: Seal the Instant Pot lid and cook on high pressure for about 20 minutes. Once done, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes before quick-releasing any remaining steam.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Open the lid carefully, gently stir the lasagna to mix the layers slightly, and top with additional mozzarella or Parmesan if desired. Let it sit for a few minutes before serving to allow it to set perfectly.

Notes

  • Use no-boil noodles for convenience and to save time without soaking.
  • Avoid pressing down on the layers too much to prevent noodles from clumping and ensure even cooking.
  • Allow natural pressure release to prevent mushy noodles.
  • Do not overfill the Instant Pot; keep ingredients below max fill line for safety and proper cooking.
  • Rest lasagna for a few minutes after cooking so it firms up for easier slicing.
