Ingredients
Scale
Steak
- 2 Ribeye or filet mignon steaks (well-marbled)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter
Shrimp and Alfredo Sauce
- 12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 ½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Pasta
- 8 ounces fettuccine or pasta of choice
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped
- Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Season the steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Heat a cast iron skillet or grill over high heat and add butter. Once melted and hot, sear the steak for about 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, depending on thickness. Remove the steak and let it rest to lock in the juices.
- Cook the Shrimp: In the same skillet, add more butter and the minced garlic. Toss in the peeled shrimp and sauté for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove shrimp and set aside to retain the buttery garlic flavor.
- Make the Creamy Alfredo Sauce: Lower the heat and pour heavy cream into the skillet, stirring to scrape up any browned bits. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until the sauce thickens to a silky consistency. Season with salt and pepper. Fold in the cooked shrimp to soak in the sauce.
- Cook the Pasta: Meanwhile, cook the pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and toss the pasta into the Alfredo sauce, ensuring each strand is well coated.
- Plate and Serve: Slice the rested steak against the grain and arrange it alongside or on top of the creamy shrimp Alfredo pasta. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and freshly cracked black pepper for a finishing touch.
Notes
- Choose quality, well-marbled steak cuts for maximum flavor and tenderness.
- Do not overcook shrimp to avoid rubbery texture; cook until just pink and opaque.
- Allow the steak to rest after cooking to keep it juicy.
- Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for better sauce texture and flavor.
- If Alfredo sauce is too thick, add pasta cooking water gradually to reach desired consistency.
