Description

This easy Stuffed Mushroom Dip is a warm, creamy, and irresistible appetizer featuring a rich blend of sautéed mushrooms, cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, and herbs. Perfect for parties, game nights, or cozy evenings, it comes together in under 30 minutes and offers a luscious, savory flavor that melts in your mouth.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 8 oz fresh Cremini or white button mushrooms, cleaned and finely chopped
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

For Sautéing

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Seasonings & Herbs

  • 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped (or 1/2 tsp dried)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mushrooms: Clean and finely chop the mushrooms. Heat olive oil or butter in a pan over medium heat, add minced garlic and mushrooms, and sauté until tender and the moisture evaporates to deepen flavor and prevent a watery dip.
  2. Mix the Cheese Base: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese and sour cream. Mix until smooth and creamy. Stir in grated Parmesan, chopped green onions, and your choice of herbs and seasonings.
  3. Combine and Season: Add the cooled mushroom mixture to the cheese base. Stir well to evenly distribute mushrooms and garlic. Adjust salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Bake Until Golden: Transfer the dip into a baking dish and spread evenly. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbling.
  5. Serve Warm and Enjoy: Allow the dip to cool for a few minutes after baking to meld flavors and thicken slightly. Serve warm with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh vegetable sticks.

Notes

  • Use fresh mushrooms for better flavor and texture compared to canned or pre-sliced.
  • Don’t skip sautéing mushrooms to reduce moisture and intensify their earthy taste.
  • Soften cream cheese to achieve a silky, smooth dip texture.
  • Monitor baking time to prevent over-browning or drying out the dip.
  • Serve warm for the best creamy, melty experience.
